Eli S. Lustgarten

Eli S. Lustgarten is now President of ESL Consultants after completing a 45-year career as a Wall Street Analyst. His industrial consulting firm assists trade associations and their members, and individual companies understand the North America and global outlook for their end markets. He also provides analysis of industrial manufacturing companies and markets to the professional investment community.

Mr. Lustgarten received his BSEE from the Polytechnic Institute (NYU engineering), and an MSEE from the University of Pennsylvania. After 3 years as a design engineer/program manager on the PATRIOT missile system at Raytheon, Mr. Lustgarten entered Harvard Business School and received his MBA with High Distinction.

As a major Wall Street analyst, he was appointed to several government panels and committees on the Social Impact of Robotics, Automation and the Workplace, and Computerized Manufacturing Automation: Employment, Education and the Workplace. He also testified as an expert witness on the Machine Tool Industry to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

He has been and continues to be a regularly invited speaker at various trade associations including the Associated Equipment Distributors (AED), Association for Equipment Manufacturers (AEM), Association for Manufacturing Technology (AMT), Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association (HDMA), National Association of Electrical Distributors (NAED), National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA), and the National Fluid Power Association (NFPA). Most recent appearances since his retirement include the Chicago Federal Reserve, CONEXPO-CON/AGG (AEM), AED Summits, AEM Annual Meetings, AEM Thinking Forward Series. and numerous conferences of AMT and NFPA.

He has been a frequent guest on CNBC financial programs and often quoted in financial media including the Wall Street Journal, Reuters and Bloomberg and many trade journals.
